What We Do

Giving voice to people, communities and stories that matter

An Australia in which the diversity and richness of our culture is explored, shared and celebrated.

180 Studios is a media production and cultural development organisation giving voice to people, stories and communities that matter.

We nurture and equip people as storytellers, leaders, artists and producers.

We engage people and communities in exploring cultural identity, realising their creative potential, and influencing positive change.

Our vision is of an Australia in which the diversity and richness of our culture is explored, shared and celebrated.

Impact

We provide skills development, training, employment and mentoring in cultural and creative enterprise and pathways into the creative industries.

The true cultural diversity and richness of our nation is rarely represented in popular arts, cultural and media content.

Whilst there is a demand for locally produced Australian stories*, this demand is not being met.

We seek to address these challenges by building the depth and base of Indigenous and Culturally-Diverse music artists, film-makers, performers, producers, directors and managers as they work on the creation of distinct and authentic stories for domestic and international music, film, television, media and advertising markets.

The key social impact elements of our work include skills development, training and mentoring in social, cultural and creative enterprise.

180 Studios works to:

  • develop talent and markets for emerging Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists and
    producers; and,
  • provide professional development, mentoring and employment opportunities for Indigenous and Culturally-Diverse people.
